Captain Olimar is the main character in the Pikmin series, created by Shigeru Miyamoto. He leads an army of Pikmin to gather whatever he needs gathered. He has so far only appeared in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, in the Super Smash Bros games.
An alternate appearance by Olimar that was supposed to occur was one in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. He was one of the people who was to come in and taste the player's coffee. However, he and all other coffee tasters were replaced by Prof. E. Gadd, so this never occurred.
His name is an anagram of Mario's name with and extra L added.
