Koopalings

The Koopalings

The Koopalings are the seven children of Bowser, found in Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, and Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga.

Members

Super Mario Bros. 3

The Koopalings first appeared in Super Mario Bros. 3. They had stolen the Magic Wands from the kings in the Fortresses throughout the Mushroom World, and used them to transform the kings into animals. Afterwards they kept their Airships within those fortresses until Mario came to them. At the end of the Airship levels Mario had to face one of the Koopalings who used the Magic Wands against him. If Mario defeated one and retrieved the wand, the king of that world will turn back to normal.

Super Mario World

The Koopalings returned in Super Mario World. They were the bosses of Castles. They were the guards of several trapped Yoshis. There were only one assigned, by Bowser, to an area. Only Larry shared an area with Bowser himself, in the Valley of Bowser.

Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga

The Koopalings were some of the last bosses that Mario and Luigi faced in Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga. When Mario and Luigi had arrived in Bowser's Castle, Bowletta had told the Koopalings that their time had come, and then they went to their rooms. The player would have to face each of the Koopalings, in the order that you face them in Super Mario World, in order to move onward. While facing Roy, Wendy O., and Larry there is a Bob-omb with a timer on it. After every turn, the timer would decrease by one. If the timer reached zero, the player would get a Game Over.

There are screenshots and videos depicting a battle between Morton and Mario on a platform surrounded by lava. Larry is also similarly fought as a fortress boss. Judging from their appearances, the Koopalings will be fought in their debut order. Apparently, they are both fought in the first world. Larry and Morton are also seen with wands, which may or may not tie into the story. They have noticeably grown in size a bit, much like Bowser Junior has (although not as drastically). Lastly, they are also seen jumping away after their defeat much like Bowser Junior, which suggests a rematch later in the game.
