The Wii is a seventh-generation games console made by Nintendo. During development, it was codenamed the Revolution. It was released on November 19, 2006 in the United States, with Wii Sports. It was designed by Shigeru Miyamoto, and is aimed towards casual gamers. One of the most unique features of the console is the controller, which has motion sensing capabilities and can be used as a pointing device. The console is capable of connecting to the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, to play online against other players.
